CURTAINS AND BLINDS. Please look through the gallery of my previous commissions.
All curtains are stitched by hand, using the sewing machine only for the headers. Curtains then hang beautifully and the main fabric marries up with the lining and that all fabrics are perfectly aligned. Charlotte is happy to recycle your existing curtains by reworking hems, headers and adding new lining. Alternatively, old fabric can be reworked into new curtains as a header or border.
All curtains are lined and Charlotte will recommend interlining or blackout fabric as appropriate. A choice of headers is available from modern eyelets and tab tops to the more opulent and traditional goblet and triple pleats as well as Charlotte's signature header, the floppy top. Charlotte will bring plenty of photos and style books to your consultation and help you choose a style to suite the proportions of the room and window.
BLINDS
Charlotte favours the traditional Roman Blind for its simplicity, no fuss style but will suggest other styles of blinds where appropriate. All blinds are lined (blackout suggested for bedrooms) and come ready to hang. On the plus side, blinds are inexpensive as they use just a small amount of fabric and are tidy. But they are sometimes not suitable as a window treatment on their own and often benefit from a pair of curtains to finish off the look. Many clients chose both a blind and pair of curtains, preferring to draw the curtains in winter but just pull down the blind in the summer time.
SERVICE
Charlotte measures the windows and doors and will advice on the exact quantity of fabric that is required. At the present time Charlotte does not supply fabric but will suggest local fabric suppliers and assist in finding that perfect fabric.
